Why is the volume low on my turntable?
If you find the audio volume too low while listening to your turntable, one of the below scenarios may be the cause:
- There are no speakers connected to the turntable, or the turntable is connected to passive speakers without an amplifier.
- Fluance Turntables do not have internal speakers, you will need to connect the turntable to speakers or a receiver using the included RCA cables. Below are images of common speaker setups with our turntables.
- A preamp will not power passive speakers, an amplifier will still be required.
- Powered speakers:
- Passive speakers (amplifier or receiver required):
- RT80/RT81/RT81+ - The built-in preamp is not enabled. To enable the preamp, slide the switch on the back of the turntable to the LINE position.
- RT82, RT83, RT84, RT85 - External preamp is required. If your receiver has a Phono input, it may have a preamp built in. connect your preamp to a different input to avoid distorted audio.
