Why do my speakers stop working when I turn them up?
The most common cause for this, especially with the Ai40 and Ai60 powered bookshelf speakers is that the incorrect power adapter is connected to the speakers, preventing them from getting enough power. This is almost guaranteed to be the issue if you have a turntable in the setup which uses a 12V adapter.
To confirm this, trace the power cord for the speakers back to the outlet, the Ai40 and Ai60 both use external brick power adapters rated at 19V and 24V respectively. If the power adapter connected to the speakers is only rated for 12V, connect the correct power supply to the speakers and the issue should now be resolved.
