Why can't I hear any sound from my speakers?
There are several reasons you may not hear sound from your speakers:
- The speaker is set to the incorrect audio source.
- The input volume is too low.
- The turntable in use requires a preamp.
- The power source for the speaker is not working or is providing too much, or not enough power.
- The speaker is in standby mode.
- There may be a poor connection between the speakers and amplifier, or the passive and active speaker.
To resolve this and get back to enjoying your speakers, try the following steps:
- Confirm the volume is turned up on the source and speakers.
- Ai41/Ai61/Ai81/Ri71/Ri91 - flip the power switch on the back of the speaker off and then on.
- Test another audio source.
- Check that the speaker wire is connected to the binding posts, the binding post should not be tightened on the rubber jacket of the wire.
- Make sure the speaker wires, or banana plugs (if in use) are not touching each other, this can cause a short.
- Confirm the power cord is plugged into the wall and the back of the active speaker. Remove it and reconnect it.
- Try a different outlet, preferably directly into a wall outlet.
- Ai40/60 - Confirm the correct power adapter is in use by checking the voltage rating.
- Ai40: 19V 3.15A
- AI60 - 24V 3.0A
- Press the LED brightness button on the remote, it may be turned off.
- Press and hold the Volume Knob until the speaker enters standby (Red LED).
- Press and hold the Bluetooth reset button on the back of the speaker until the red LED flashes. This will reset all settings.
