What is a burn in period and why is it recommended?
Turntable "burn in" or "break in" refers to the period of use the turntable requires to reach it's peak performance.
By allowing the turntable to run for 24 hours, it helps to distribute lubrication, and to allow time for the belt to stretch to it's optimal length and tightness.
This process can be done by allowing the platter to spin without a record for 24 hours, or through regular use. It will result in more stable speed and smoother tracking.
