What are sound isolation floor spikes?
Sound isolation spikes, sometimes referred to as floor spikes, aid in reducing vibration absorption through the floor. This improves the quality of the sound by making it more defined, and in the case of turntables such as our Reference series which also feature isolation feet to reduce surface contact, can prevent distortion caused by feedback.
Speakers will perform differently depending on the material used for your flooring (hardwood vs carpet, etc). The metal isolation spikes included with some of our floorstanding speakers can be used on most surfaces. For surfaces that may be easily damaged such as hardwood or ceramic tile, you can use the included adhesive rubber pads, or third party bases for isolation feet.
