What is a break-in period?

Speaker Break-In/Burn-In Explained

Fluance speakers are designed with a butyl rubber ring surrounding the cone of our drivers.

When you first receive your speakers, this rubber ring can be quite stiff.

For this reason, we recommend a minimum 10-12 hour break-in period which involves running the speakers at moderate volume. This allows the rubber to loosen and stretch which allows the cone of the driver a larger range of movement for better sound production.

If your new speakers don't sound how you expected, be sure to run them through this break-in period as the difference can be night and day!
