How to Setup Ai41 & Ai61 Powered Bookshelf Speakers with RCA, USB, Optical and Bluetooth Connections
In this video, we will show you how to properly set up your Ai41 or Ai61 powered bookshelf speakers. Both speakers function similarly, although they have some differences. Firstly, there is a difference in driver size and the size of the cabinets. Additionally, the Ai61 has a USB-C audio input. Moreover, the two speaker sets have different frequency responses, power handling, SPL, and DSP tuning.
You will receive an active speaker and a passive speaker. The active speaker represents the right channel and includes the amplifier that powers the passive speaker. To identify the active speaker, look for the control knob and IR sensor on the front, as well as the inputs on the back.
To set up the speakers, begin by connecting the two speakers using a speaker wire. You can use either the included speaker wire or your own. Loosen the binding posts, insert the wire, and then tighten them. Alternatively, you can use banana plugs. Ensure that the connections are correct, with red-to-red and black-to-black, and make sure they are secure.
Next, plug in the power cable to the active speaker, connect it to a power source, and flip the on/off switch located at the back of the active speaker. The LED indicator will turn red, indicating that it is on standby. Use either the remote control or press the control knob to turn on the speaker. The LED will display which input the speaker is currently using. The colors are as follows: green for RCA, white for optical, purple for USB audio, and blue for Bluetooth. When Bluetooth is in pairing mode, the LED will blink blue, and it will show solid blue when a device is connected. To unpair a device, use the remote control or press the Bluetooth reset button at the back.
You can control the volume by using the control knob located on the front of the speaker. To return the speaker to standby mode, press and hold the control knob until the LED turns red. The LED also indicates the level of treble and bass, which ranges from -5 to 5. When adjusting the treble and bass, the LED will flash twice when you reach -5 or 5. It will also flash the source color when you reach 0 or a flat EQ. The double flash also occurs when you've reached the minimum or maximum volume.
The remote control included with the speakers provides various functions, including power, mute, volume up and down, forward and back buttons for use with Bluetooth devices, play/pause, source selection, LED brightness, and treble and bass adjustment.
To connect a device, simply plug it into the active speaker and select the appropriate source. If you are using the optical output, you may need to select "Optical" in your TV settings or enable external audio. It is important to note that Dolby Digital Audio or DTS is not supported. In your source device's audio settings, ensure that Dolby Digital is turned off and select PCM or Stereo.
