Ai41/Ai61/Ai81: Why is there no sound from the passive speaker?

If you find that the passive speaker in your Ai41, Ai61, or Ai81 powered speakers is not outputting sound, or audio quality is poor, you can correct this with the following steps:
  1. Set the speaker to Standby Mode (Red LED).
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth Reset Button on the back of the speaker until the red LED flashes. This will factory reset the speaker.
  3. Check the speaker wire connection to the binding posts.
  4. Confirm the same side of the wire is plugged into the matching binding post on each speaker (black to back, red to red).
  5. The posts should not be tightened down on the wire jacket/insulation.
  6. If you are unable to make contact between the metal portion of the speaker wire and the binding post, you may need to strip some of the insulation off the speaker wire to expose more metal. Ensure the wire is not connected to the speaker while you are doing this.
