Nyrius Aries Prime/Pro/Pro+ First Time Set Up and FAQ
During your first time set up, your Nyrius product may take a short period of time to establish a connection.
To minimize this, follow these steps when setting up the transmitter and receiver.
FIRST TIME SETUP
- Connect the HDMI cable to the TV – take note of the name of the port.
- Turn the TV on.
- Set the TV to the same HDMI port the cable is plugged into.
- Plug the receiver into a wall outlet using the power adapter.
- Once the receiver is powered on, connect the HDMI from the TV to the receiver.
- A searching animation should appear on screen.
- Connect the transmitter to the HDMI port on the video source. (Laptop, Cable Box, Gaming Console). The transmitter cannot be connected to another TV.
- Connect the USB cable from the transmitter to a powered USB port on the video source. For models with a power adapter, connect the adapter to a wall outlet.
- Once the power LEDs stay solid, they are paired and the image should appear momentarily.
WHAT IF THEY DON’T CONNECT?
- Ensure that the transmitter and receiver have sufficient ventilation. Excess heat can cause connectivity issues.
- Ensure that the transmitter and receiver are within range of each other (varies by model), and within line of sight(varies by model). Walls and floors may reduce this distance.
- Wireless routers may cause interference while in use, ensure your transmitter and receiver are a minimum 6 feet away from wireless routers. To determine if a router is the source of interference, it may be necessary to disconnect it from power momentarily and test your Nyrius device.
- Wireless devices can be subject to interference, this can result in a loss of signal, or intermittent signal.
How to Avoid Wireless Interference
Anything wireless that operates on a 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency has the potential to cause interference with your wireless devices. The following is a list of common offenders found in most households:
Microwave Ovens: The use of microwave ovens near your computer, Wi-Fi router or other wireless devices may cause interference.
Cordless Phones : When on a call a cordless phone that operates on a 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency can cause interference for wireless devices and networks.
All Wireless Devices: Any wireless devices that operate on a 2.4GHz or 5GHz bandwidth can cause interference with your other wireless devices. This can include security systems, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Bluetooth earpieces, garage door openers or other Wi-Fi devices.
Some External Monitors: Some display screens or external monitors can emit harmonic interference – primarily on the 2.4GHz band between channels 11 and 14.
Direct Satellite Service: The coax cable and connectors used with satellite dishes can cause radio frequency interference (RF leakage) if damaged. If you’re experiencing interference and your cables display signs of tampering, try replacing the cables.
- To correct interference issues, pair the transmitter and receiver, or adjusting the placement of them. We have created a video to walk you through this process, found here:
