Why is the motor on my turntable making noise?
On Reference Series (RT82, RT83, RT84, RT85) turntables, the motor cap may not be on correctly and could rub on the motor pulley. This can either result in a scraping/chattering/rubbing sound, or stop the motor from spinning.

- Remove the motor cap and reinstall the belt. If the noise has stopped without the motor cap installed, it may not be aligned.
- Ensure the notch on the motor cap is aligned with the arrow in the motor cut out as shown below.
- Once aligned, you may need to push on the cap lightly to seat it.
