Why do my records play too fast or too slow?

If you find your records are spinning too fast or too slow, you can try the following steps:

  1. Confirm the correct playback speed has been selected for the record. The speed is usually listed on the label. Some full-size 12" albums may be designed to be played at 45 RPM.

  2. Switch the speed selector to another setting and switch it back to the desired setting.

  3. Confirm the transit screw is tightened all the way down so the turntable floats and doesn't scrape on the cabinet.
