Why doesn't the CD player work?

If you are experiencing difficulties with your CD player, please try the steps below:
 

1. For models with a power switch on the back, ensure it is set to the ON position.
2. Confirm the player is set to the correct source: CD.
3. Turn the volume up.
4. If you are using external speakers, confirm the volume is turned up on those speakers as well.
5. Test with a store-bought CD if you are trying to play a burned CD.
6. Use a CD player lens cleaning kit to clean the lens in the CD drive.
