RR35/RR36: Do I need speakers for the Electrohome Montrose?
Yes, you will need speakers to listen to the Electrohome Montrose record player.
Fortunately, it comes with a built-in preamp so all you need to do is connect it to your favourite set of speakers with the included RCA cables, or to an amplifier.
Both the RR35 and RR36 models can be easily connected to the McKinley 2.0 Stereo Powered Bookshelf Speakers (EB30) with RCA cables, and in the case of the RR36, via Bluetooth.
When using an amplifier or A/V receiver, be sure you do not connect it to the PHONO input if it has one. The PHONO input has a preamp as well and will distort the audio if the turntable preamp is on at the same time.
If you want to use the amplifier's PHONO input, turn the preamp off on the turntable.
